Germany enjoys in the Arab countries a high economic and political standing. The Arab interest in cooperating with Germany is very strong in many fields, especially in business activities. The processes of transformation in the Arab countries bring forth new partners willing to cooperate on both sides. For Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Morocco and Saudi Arabia are particularly important. The export volume of the German economy of goods and services only to Saudi Arabia was, according to the Federal Statistical Office in 2011, 6.9 billion euros. The Gulf region is one of the most important markets worldwide. Moreover, the EXPO 2020 in Dubai and the World Cup in 2022 in Qatar represents a great opportunity for the German-Arab cooperation.
